Gambling Success started with a simple frustration. Planning a holiday should be exciting, but somewhere between the endless open tabs, conflicting advice and websites trying to sell you something, it often turns into a chore. So much travel information out there is either thin and generic, or written to push a particular flight, hotel or package rather than to actually help you. For anyone trying to plan their first big trip, sort out a family holiday, or simply work out what to pack, that is exhausting and off-putting.
We built this site to be the resource we wished we had when we were starting out: clear, honest, practical, and written in plain English. No hype, no scare stories, and no pretending that travelling well is some secret art reserved for seasoned globetrotters.
What we believe
We believe a great holiday is mostly about getting a handful of sensible things right and not sweating the rest. Plan ahead a little, choose a destination that genuinely suits you, book at the right time, pack smart, and look after your health and safety while you are away. None of that requires being a frequent flyer. It just requires someone to explain it clearly, without overcomplicating it, and that is the job we have set ourselves.
We also believe in being upfront about what travel is really like. Flights get delayed, plans change, and no trip is ever completely perfect. Our aim is to help you prepare well and make calm, informed decisions that suit your own situation, so that when the unexpected happens you can take it in your stride. We are here to help you travel better, not to push you toward any particular product or place.
What you will find here
Our guides cover the ground that matters most when you are planning a trip: getting started and choosing where to go, finding and booking flights and accommodation, packing well, navigating the airport and travel day, and staying healthy and safe abroad. Each guide is written to be read on its own, but they also link together so you can follow a topic from the basics through to the finer detail at your own pace.
Where a topic touches things like entry requirements, visas, or health and vaccination rules, we do our best to keep it accurate and useful. These things change often and can vary by destination and nationality, though, so we always encourage you to check the latest official guidance — such as the FCDO travel advice on GOV.UK — before you book or travel.
A note on independence
The site is funded by advertising and by affiliate links. When you buy a travel ebook through our store, we may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you. That keeps the core content free to read. It also means we have no incentive to steer you toward any particular airline, hotel or booking site, and we never accept payment to recommend a specific one. Our editorial decisions are our own.
Important: this is general information, not advice
Everything on Gambling Success is general information and inspiration, not personal, professional advice. We do not know your individual circumstances, and nothing here is a guarantee or a substitute for official guidance on things like entry rules, health requirements or travel insurance. For anything that depends on your own situation, always check the relevant official sources and, where appropriate, seek suitable professional advice before you travel.
